Chunky Fig Cowl

The snow is still falling outside here in Ontario which means it’s still scarf season!  This snuggly cowl was one of my winter favorites this year.  The name comes from the color and it only uses 2 skeins of yarn.

Made using Lion Brand’s Wool Ease Thick & Quick in Fig, this cowl works up very quickly and is very cozy.  The pattern is available for free on Ravelry from The Crimson Owl. I didn’t quite make mine as big as the pattern called for, I just fastened off after it got to the height I wanted, which took about 2 skeins of yarn.

Wool Ease Thick & Quick is one of favourite super bulky yarns and I use it for a lot of different projects.  It comes in so many nice colors too, and I especially loved this one that’s almost like a dark dusty rose.

This cowl drapes so nicely because of the stitches used and I really like the variety in the pattern.  This is a perfect beginner’s project for someone wanting to practice their double crochets, single crochets and half double crochets!

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
