Mason Jar Cozies

This pattern is brought to you by another one of my favorite crochet blogs Little Monkey’s Crochet.

I got a bunch of Mason jars on sale a Michaels a while ago and was waiting for a good opportunity to use them.  Then I saw this Mason Jar cozy pattern and felt like it was fate!

For the brown one I used a worsted weight yarn instead of a light weight yarn and followed the pattern for the smaller mason jar.  It ended up fitting the larger jar, no problem!

For the aqua one I used the appropriate materials and it worked out just as well.  I love the way the light peeks out of the yarn when it’s dark and there’s a candle lit inside.  It’s really beautiful!

This is also a nice decorative accent when you have kids around because I feel like it’s a lot safer than an open flame.  To top that you could even use a battery powered “candle” instead.

I love the look of the texture in this cozy.  There are a few patterns from Little Monkey’s Crochet that use the same technique.  I have also made the Rustic Fringe Scarf, the Buttoned Pillow Throw and the Half & Half Slouch Hat.
