Granny Rectangle Afghan

I made this little lapgan for my stepson so he would have his own snuggle blanket (as most of us do).  I picked another variegated yarn that I like just as I did with the Granny Stripe Blanket.

I really wanted there to be defined rectangles in this one, but you can only really see it from far away. The yarn I used was Loops & Threads Impeccable in Tropical Storm and Red Heart Super Saver in Coffee.

IMG_4944I started with brown, then changed to  Tropical Storm for 5 rows, then back to brown for 1 row, then continued on until I got to the size I wanted it to be.

I followed these instructions from Crochet Crowd to get an idea of how big I needed to start it off.

I think if I were to do this again I would choose a lighter color as the accent, as the brown blended in a little better than I would have liked.  It’s still a nice comfy blanket. 🙂
