My brother has been bugging me to make him a hat since I started to crochet just a few months ago and I’ve just been keeping it on the back burner for some reason. After finally sitting down and making one I’m not sure why I waited so long. It only took me 1 one night and I’m very pleased how it turned out and I’m sure his head is happy too considering how cold it’s been lately!
He picked the pattern himself from Red Heart Yarn. I like the use of different stitches to create the stripe effect. It calls for plastic or heavy interfacing for the brim but I had an old plastic place mat not being used to I cut the brim out of that.
This hat has a lot of stretch to it and it covers his ears. Perfect for keeping warm while working outside all day in the -15 cold!
